How writing a blog became my new hobby
My name is Becca, I am 29, I am a first time mum and have fibromyalgia and anxiety! Firstly, welcome to my brand new blog called Mummy the Fibro Warrior! I’m so glad you’ve decided to check out my new hobby. This blog is a support blog for parents with a chronic illness. Above all, I really hope you find it useful for your parenting and chronic illness journey.
What is Fibromyalgia?
For those of you that do not know what Fibromyalgia is, it can be described as a chronic condition that causes debilitating pain and fatigue on a daily basis. Primarily, FMAUK is a fantastic website for those of you that need more information about what it is or for help and support with your fibromyalgia.
Becoming Mummy The Fibro Warrior
In view of giving birth to my beautiful, baby boy in November 2021, I chose to be a stay at home mummy. Ultimately, I adore being a stay at home mummy and helping my boy to grow and develop! However, it does have its challenges especially when you are a parent with a disability.
When I had my son, there was hardly any information out there at all to help a new mum balance parenting and a chronic illness, and hence Mummy the Fibro Warrior was born! Now, this is my new hobby and I absolutely adore writing it! In general, I try to fit my hobby in around nap times and when he is in bed at night and it is a great stress reliever for me and helps me to come to terms with my condition.
Hobby: Blogging and other interests
My other hobbies I enjoy doing are Powerlifting, Reading, Jewellery Making and Running.
p.s. If you want to start Jewellery making why not purchase this great starter kit found on Amazon. If you do click on my link, at no cost to you, I do get a small commission.
Remembering why you chose your hobby
Unfortunately, I have to remember and remind myself to take a step back when doing my blogging hobby because I can often get too involved in the statistics, analytics, views and shares. Subsequently, this then provokes my anxiety and makes my fibromyalgia flare. It is all about a balancing act with hobbies and remembering why I chose them in the first place and why I love to do them.
Mummy the Fibro Warrior Top Tip
- Have a hobby outside of parenting that you find fun and that fits in with your chronic condition
If there is one take away I would like you all to remember today is that parenting is a joy, a wonder and an amazing experience! Alongside that though it is challenging especially when we are battling illnesses at the same time. So, finding a hobby that brings you joy can really help to relax and calm you after a busy day. I need you to know you are doing the best that you can, your child/children love you just as you are and you are Mummy the Fibro Warrior!
Until next time
